Real Colour Picker solves this by utilizing a 100% client-side computing architecture. This Privacy Policy outlines what information is processed, how local storage is used, and your rights when interacting with our suite of tools.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To maintain absolute confidentiality, our services are deliberately engineered never to ingest, log, or transmit:

  • Your Images & Screenshots: Any file you drag and drop, load from disk, or paste using clipboard shortcuts (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) is read locally by your web browser using HTML5 FileReader and CanvasRenderingContext2D APIs. The raw image bytes never leave your device.
  • Your Extracted Palettes & Colors: Swatches, harmony calculations, OKLCH conversions, and exported tokens remain exclusively in your browser session.
  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for your legal name, physical address, phone number, age, or employer information.
  • Account Credentials or Payment Information: Real Colour Picker does not have a user registration system or credit card processor. Our tools are completely free to use.

3. Local In-Browser Storage & Cookie Policy

We prioritize transparency regarding local storage technologies:

Temporarily caches your actively sampled color swatches in browser memory so you don't lose your work if you accidentally refresh the tab. You can clear this anytime by clicking "Clear Palette".

Tracking Cookies: We do not set third-party marketing, ad-targeting, or behavioral profiling cookies. You can clear all website data at any time via your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of the tools.

4. Server Logs & Infrastructure Providers

Like virtually all web properties, when your browser requests web assets (such as HTML, CSS stylesheets, JavaScript bundles, or SVG icons) from our content delivery network (CDN), standard HTTP transmission headers may be briefly processed by our hosting infrastructure for security and performance:

  • IP address (used transiently for rate-limiting, DDoS mitigation, and geographic server routing)
  • Browser user-agent and operating system version (to negotiate modern HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 compression)
  • Referring URL and requested file path
